Weekly Wrap 27 May 2011

I’m introducing a new segment this week’s called the ‘Weekly Wrap’.  What I will do is every week record a quick video talking about what I been doing for the week, things I’ve learned and things that I think would be of interest to you.

In this week’s Weekly Wrap, I cover a bunch of different things:

  • What I’ve been listening to. I mentioned two great podcasts I’ve enjoyed this week. One is from Pat Flynn-from smart passive income.com. The other is from www.IloveMarketing.com.
  • Auto-blogging. Over the past two months I’ve been working on an autoblog. It is probably more of a semi-auto blog! I’ve been using a WordPress plug-in called WP Robot, which I use to source articles and videos which are then used on the blog.  I write an introduction for each article or video, and watch the videos before I use them to make sure they’re suitable for my niche. WP robot is useful because it finds the products from Amazon and Clickbank, and automatically includes my affiliate links in the product descriptions. I’ve still got a lot to learn about autoblogging, and I’ll share more as time goes on.
  • Headway theme. As you know, I’m a big fan of the Headway theme for WordPress. Most of my blogs use Headway, and I’m really enjoying the functionality that it provides. In the video, I explain a little bit of how I have setup my autoblog using Headway, and also talk about how I’ve been inserting ads into the theme.
  • Pay per Click Ads. I run a couple of PPC ads with Google, where I link to some affiliate products. I talk a little bit about those ads on the video, and why I choose to direct link to the product.
  • Empire Avenue. I’ve discovered the new social network called Empire Avenue, over the past couple weeks. I’m still trying to figure out how to use it for best effect, but it has had the effect of making me think more about how I use the various social media accounts that I have.

So that’s the Wrap for this week. Hope you enjoy it if you do, please leave a comment or share it on Facebook or twitter.
